Hi,
this is what you've been waiting for. Now you can have OperaMiniLargeDevice (OMLD) (see previous posts) as a one-click-solution (OMLDSuite) to let Opera Mini run on the PC in a big window. This browser is now also available for the iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and numerous other mobile platforms. It offers a fast browsing experience due to advanced content compression techniques. The new OMLDSuite consists of three components:
- an emulator from the JavaFX SDK (adapted for OMLDSuite)
- Opera Mini 5 beta 2
- scripts to install and start Opera Mini
Requirements:
- Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
- Java Runtime Enviroment from here
- Internet access on your PC
I have made several versions of OMLDSuite for different screen resolutions. Feel free to download the version which suits your needs:
- For small(er) screens: 800x600 pixels version
- For normal screens: 1024x705 pixels version
- For Full-HD screens: 1920x995 pixels version
- Unpack the OMLDSuite archive you just downloaded in one directory.
- Run the script "install_opera_mini.bat" by clicking on it. This is only needed once!
- Then click on the script start_opera_mini.bat" whenever you want to start OMLDSuite.
- Then the emulator window should come up in which you can launch Opera Mini (5).
As this new solution does not need the Sun Wireless Toolkit or the Java ME Platform SDK 3.0 or the JDK the installation is now much simpler.

how do i added a proxy server address to this edition.
Hi,
normally the emulator gets the proxy settings from the IDE around it. I haven't figured out yet how to set a proxy in the standalone emulator. I'll have to take an extensive look again at this problem. I will report back.

Hi Makube. My name is Daniel and I must say I am very impressed with your work. However I would like to use this same process to install bolt browser 2.O but notice I will need a BBLD just like you have created an OMLD. WHat do you think about this?
pls i like to knw how to use operamini 5 beta 2 multi handler on omld
Hi Daniel,
this is a good idea, you can try the BOLT browser by putting the jad and the jar files into the "operaminimidlet" folder of OMLDSuite.
Then you should change the install bat file as well to refer to the correct jad.

Hi Falbihno Dihnex,
please try the same procedure I suggested to Daniel in the last comment with your modified OM version.

Hey yous work is impressive. But i got to ask some questions. Can you please contact me on helloimhere432@rediffmail.com
hey can you please tell me how to copy paste data from OMLD. all i wanted to use OMLD is just to copy data from some saved pages from my phone. fortunately i am able to open thosse saved pages on my pc but unable to copy paste data.
Hi,
thank you for using OMLDSuite.
You can copy and paste inside OM 5 by clicking and holding the left mouse button, clicking on "select text", marking your needed text and pasting it to the search field or address input field (press and hold left mouse button over these fields for this purpose).
Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out how to copy and paste data to external programs using the keyboad with e.g. STRG-c or STRG+v. The internal key mapping is not documented in the JavaFX mobile emulator.

Hi ardX,
soon I will make new OMLDSuite versions with the final OM 5 version. Your screensize will be one of them.

Dear Makube, By chance, I happened to come by a program called KEmulator.
Please check and see if you can improve upon this emulator. I was able to open a jar ebook (made with Qioo) with this emulator.

Hi. This is incredibly impressive. I am from Nigeria. I have installed opera but starting it only gives me the window, but no active browser despite being connected to the internet, what could be wrong? Regards. Danjuma(Nigeria)
Hi,
my first comment hasn't shown up, so I'm trying again:
thanks so much for making it easy for a noob to set this up! It works great!
I have two questions: is there a way to close the bar that shows just the phone number, and will there be a netbook screen resolution version out in the near future?
Thanks!
Thank you all for your nice comments.
To the user from Nigeria: When the emulator window comes up, select the Opera Mini entry to start the browser. This should work.
Siskiou: There is an 800x600 pixels version you might wanna check out. What screen size do you have?

Hi again,
my screen is 1024x600.
I tried the 800x600, but it was just a little too small, leaving about a quarter of the screen unused on the side.
gr8 work Makube!
kindly tell me how to save pages and images?
many thanks
how to use proxy server in this
Hi Again,
I've just downloaded & tried out your OMLDSuite. I must
admit you've done a fantastic job & have put in a lot of
effort into this project, but unfortunately it was a no go
for me! When I run the install batch file a javafx-sdk
folder does get created and i see a sdk device manager
icon in my taskbar. But when I try to run the start batch
file only a cmd window (same as the install one-both are
absolutely blank!) comes up and no option for starting
opera mini comes & neither does it run. After sometime the
window closes & i'm left with the device mgr icon. Right
clicking it only gives the restart & exit option. Device
mgr option is greyed out. I tried this with both your
opera mini beta 5 and the newer vers that i have
(5.0.18741) both connected to the net & offline, but no
luck.
I really like Opera Mini 5. I use it on my phone as well
as on the PC with MicroEmulator or MPowerPlayer.
Unfortunately both have their limitations as in saving
pages & copy pasting from saved pages!
I still have WTK 2.5.2 installed, does this affect it &
i'm using an older vers of JRE 1.6.12 (I see that 1.6.20
is the latest). So, do I require a newer vers of JRE? My
OS is XP Sp3 Pro. Thanks in advance!
Hi Makube,
I downloaded & installed JRE 1.6.20, but its still not made any difference. I still get a blank cmd window when I try to install OMLD suite or run Opera Mini.
Still waiting for a reply...
Thx
cant there be a 1200x800 screen size??? how can we change the screen size it will be very helpful to all of us if tell this
Hi Makube,
The problem was probably with my XP installation, a XP repair with the installation CD did the trick. Your setup is running beautifully!
Thx a tonne! Only 1 small (big?!?) problem is the inability to copy paste text to the windows clipboard (posted earlier but no solution). Even tried the OM 5 handler jar file without any success.
Hi Crockpit and Sunil,
sorry for being so late with my answers. I made a very long trip to different locations on the globe.
Crockpit: I'm pleased that you could figure out your problem yourself. It would have been very hard for be to find the cause of your very specific problem. Still, the copy and paste problem and the not existing proxy settings persist in this solution.
Sunil: I will update OMLDSuite to the newest emulator version and the newest Opera Mini shortly. In that process I will also create new versions for other resolutions.

no need to do all that hard work man, i just install the latest version of opera mini (opera mnii 5.1), i just do what you tell in this post (change the script at install_opera_mini.bat by right click it and edit the name of jad file by the name of jad of opera mini 5.1) and it works fantastic with the emulator. Since the new version is lighter than the previous one, i'm now double delighted by the awesome work that you've done. Thanks for making this emmulator man. It's so awesome. Anyway, i have a sollution to copy and paste text outsite the opera but i think thhat trick wont work for this emulator since there is no fullscreen edit feature when running opera mini 5.1
I think i would now try to install bolt browser since it can stream youtube videos.
PS: i'm posting this comment using the opera mini emulator at this post
Hi Yoto,

Hi ram....,
you are right, the scrolling can be confusing sometimes. I normally click with the left mouse button on the right side of the screen, hold it and move the mouse up and down to scroll in the page. This works for me normally.
